Post from June 4, 2023–if it wasn’t clear before (sorry!) I used the digits of my RSD to search for a Bible verse for each day.
“👟 RSD 1132 ✅ “like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them aloft.” — Deuteronomy 32:11
This one describes God’s kindness, concern, and love for us as an eagle, mighty and powerful…yet caring for those it loves and wants to protect, watching over its young and teaching them to fly by carrying them itself when they need to be carried so they can learn what it means to fly. KJV version uses language such as “beareth them on her wings,” and the NLT translation describes it as, “so he spread his wings to take them up and carried them safely on his pinions.” Truthfully, I had to look up “pinion”—from Google, “the outer part of a bird’s wing, including flight feathers.”
For context, Deuteronomy 32:10 says:
“In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; He guarded him as the apple of His eye,”
I especially liked the “apple of His eye” part. And, I’ve always had a thing for wings 🪽 and feathers 🪶 .”
